Tarta de chocolate y frutos secos

Ingredientes

Base

  • 250 g frutos secos picados (con trozos). He mezclado almendra, nueces, avellanas

  6. Refrigeramos 3 horas. Servimos! ✨

English version

Has anyone here switched their oven back on since the summer? If I'm being completely honest, all it takes is the mention of a recipe involving chocolate and nuts and I'm ready to turn mine on at any time of year.

If you're still resisting, I think this chocolate and hazelnut tart with its crunchy nut crust is a pretty good way to officially welcome baking season.

And the truth is, it hardly needs any oven time at all. Just a few minutes to make a golden, crunchy base with nuts, a little oats, coconut oil and maple syrup. After that, all you have to do is prepare an incredibly creamy chocolate filling and let the fridge do the rest.

What I particularly love about the base is that it isn't trying to imitate traditional pastry. Here, the nuts are very much the stars of the show, and we leave a few little pieces in the mixture so that every slice has that lovely crunch contrasting with the smooth, creamy filling.

I've used a mixture of almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts, along with a couple of tablespoons of rolled oats, but you can easily adapt it to whatever you have at home. You know how much I love recipes that let you open the cupboard and make good use of what's already there.

And then there's the chocolate.

The filling might sound like the complicated part, but it really couldn't be simpler. And just when you think the tart is finished, along comes that final touch which, for me, is what takes it from a lovely chocolate tart to a truly memorable one. All you need is a few flakes of Maldon sea salt, some chopped hazelnuts and a drizzle of olive oil.

The salt makes the chocolate taste even more intensely chocolatey, the hazelnuts add a wonderful crunch and the olive oil brings a fruity, slightly bold note that rounds off every mouthful.

It might not sound like much, but it completely transforms the result.

There is one thing you'll need, though: a little patience. The filling needs a few hours in the fridge to set properly and reach that perfect texture for slicing.

The result is an intensely chocolatey, wonderfully creamy tart with a nut-packed base that adds texture and balances every bite. When people taste it, they'll think you've put far more work into it than you actually have.

So, if you were still looking for an excuse to switch the oven back on, I think you've just found it.

Now tell me, have you officially kicked off baking season yet, or are you still holding out? 🍂🍫

Chocolate and nut tart

Ingredients

For the base

  • 250 g chopped mixed nuts (leaving some larger pieces). I used almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts, along with
  • A couple of tablespoons of rolled oats (gluten free).
  • 60 g coconut oil
  • 1½ tablespoons maple syrup
  • A pinch of salt

For the filling

  • 1 tin (400 ml) coconut milk
  • 350 g chopped chocolate
  • Maldon sea salt flakes
  • A handful of chopped hazelnuts
  • A drizzle of olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Blend all the ingredients for the base together, leaving some texture in the nuts.
  3. Line and grease a tart tin, then press the nut mixture firmly into the base and sides using your fingers. Bake for 12 minutes or until it is golden. Leave to cool.
  4. To make the filling, gently heat the coconut milk without letting it boil. Turn off the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Leave it to melt for 2 minutes, then stir well until you have a thick, smooth mixture.
  5. Pour the chocolate filling over the cooled base. Sprinkle with Maldon sea salt flakes and chopped hazelnuts, then finish with a drizzle of olive oil.
  6. Refrigerate for 3 hours before serving. Enjoy! ✨
